County Clean Up

Each year we dedicate time to clean up our neighborhoods. Vigo County Solid Waste each year provides dumpsters and labor to drop off large items to dispose of. The dates listed are for any Vigo County resident, unless noted. Acceptable Items Include household furniture, mattresses, large toys, carpeting, appliances, yard debris, or any other hard to dispose of items. Since 2020 Vigo County Solid Waste Management District has collected over 422 tons of waste in our county cleanups.

2024 County Cleanups - Are complete for the year.

2025 County Cleanups - First Saturday of the Month, Spring through Fall
8am-12pm (or until dumpsters are full)

Acceptable items include:
Household Furniture
Mattresses (2 Piece Limit)
Large Toys
Carpeting (3′ Bundles)
Appliances (Not containing CFC’s or HCF’s-Refrigerant)
Yard Debris (Bagged or in 3′ Sections tied in string or rope)
Tires (Limit 4)
Electronics (Tv’s $20 each)

Vigo County Solid Waste reserves the right to limit or refuse any items on clean up days.

In 2024 Vigo County Solid Waste Management District Collected over 208 tons of waste in our county cleanups!

Neighborhood Cleanups

If your neighborhood or community would like to participate in a cleanup day, we can provide T-shirts, supplies including safety, equipment, disposal bags, grabbers, gloves, etc.
